Women Entrepreneurs Power Trip
Polish & American Women Entrepreneurs (WE), in partnership with the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology, hosted “Women Entrepreneurs Power Trip” to New York City on November 28-30, 2018.
The three-day event gathered top female executives and entrepreneurs from both the U.S. and Poland, enabling Polish women access to American markets and insight into best practices in international business. Through a series of speeches, panel discussions and networking opportunities, attendees interacted and collaborated with industry peers, thought leaders and potential investors. The “WE Power Trip” kicked off with a gala hosted by the Polish Consulate in New York on November 28, 2018 – the 100-year anniversary of women’s suffrage in Poland. The evening celebrated notable Polish and American women who had fought to secure women’s voting rights in the early 20th century, including trailblazers like Marie Sklodowska Curie, Tamara Lempicka and Helena Rubinstein, among others. The gala also recognized special guests who were champions of efforts to advance women’s rights in the workplace and throughout society, including the Secretary of State for Poland, Anna Marie Anders. CBS Special Correspondent Rita Cosby served as master of ceremonies for the program, which began at 6:00PM ET and featured two expert panels.
The “Power Trip” continued on November 29, 2018 at 5:00PM ET with a tour of the Brooklyn technology and startup scene and business meetings focused on professional development in Poland and the U.S. The events concluded on November 30, 2018 with a power breakfast at the Polish Consulate, featuring leaders from prominent women’s organizations, such as NAWBO NY. Notable WE Group attendees included Monika Zochowska, co-founder and CEO of GLOV; and Anna Ogar, CEO of Insignes Labs; Eliza Kruczkowska CIO at the Polish Development Fund; Lydia Sarfati, CEO of Sarkli-Repêchage and others. These entrepreneurs spoke to the strategic challenges facing women in business, and particularly in technology startups.
The “WE Power Trip” was made possible in partnership with MasterCard, Vital Voices, WE NYC, Williamsburg Hotel, LOT Polish Airlines, KGHM and PGE.
